News and Announcements

Hi Grizzlies Families,

As you all know by now, school is out of session until April 10. With that comes the suspension of all athletic activities.

Per CIF – Practices and Competitions
High School teams will not practice or compete during the period designated by each school or
school district in which schools are closed; this includes practicing at alternative sites. For all
intents and purposes, “no-contact period” guidelines will be in effect – coaches may not
coordinate, schedule, direct or plan team activities and there can be no student-organized or led
practices.

The spring “season of sport” and rule 600 remain in effect. Student-athletes may not practice,
train or compete with club teams during the high school season of sport. Please keep in mind
that the purpose of all recent cancellations and closures is to actively encourage people to avoid
groups and gatherings.

What This Means for the Our Athletes
While the team is not allowed to get together to practice, individuals athletes are encouraged to continue to workout and train on their own to maintain the progress they have made this season and be ready when our season resumes. If athletes have any questions, they may contact the team captains through the athlete remind.

Our track meet and invite schedule has been updated on Athletic.net with the information that is available to us at the moment. This is subject to change as information becomes available.

Booster Club meetings have been cancelled during this time as well. We are still working and continuing to try to raise funds for the team but everything will be done via non face to face contact for the time being. If you have any thoughts or ideas please feel free to forward them to us!

If you have questions regarding any of this please feel free to contact:

Coach Coleman at 760) 468-4968 or grizzliestrack.field@gmail.com
Andrea Roberds, MHHS Track and Field Boosters President at aeroberds@gmail.com
Kathleen Morreale, MHHS Track and Field Boosters Treasurer at mhhstftreasurer@gmail.com

Good Morning Grizzlies Families,

DUAL MEET AT FALLBROOK HS

SATURDAY’S BRONCO INVITE
The Bronco Invite this weekend has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Per the Governor of California, all athletic events that have 250 people or more competing have been suspended until further notice.

We will keep you updated on all future meets and invites as they approach and we have further information.

Have a great day!

Hi Grizzlies Families!

We have a few important announcements to make for the upcoming week.

COVID-19
Due to the ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 virus, the team will no longer be bringing the refillable water bottles down to the field. Each athlete needs to bring their own water to practice. It is recommended that the water bottle is at least 2 liters. Many water bottles look alike so please label or have some sort of identifying marks on it. Please remind your athlete to verify it is their own water bottle prior to drinking from it.

HERE COMES THE RAIN
We are in for some rain this week! The team will still have practice! It is a good idea to have your athlete bring a change of shoes and socks to change in to after practice as their feet will be wet!

This week our track meet is at Fallbrook High School and starts at 3:15. The athletes will ride the bus to and from the meet. The meet is scheduled to proceed rain or shine. If the weather forces a cancellation due to thunder/lightning or has created unsafe field conditions we will be notified by 10:00 am on Thursday. Athletes will be notified via the athlete remind. Please verify your athlete is on the remind so they get any important notifications! We will send a notification out via email as well.

BRONCO INVITE
This Saturday is the Bronco Invitational. Athletes must make qualifying times to compete at this. Coach Coleman will have the list of athletes who have qualified and are competing. It is the athletes responsibility to know if they are competing and in what events. This is a self transport meet, no buses are provided. All competing athletes should plan on arriving at least two hours prior to the scheduled start of their race as sometimes events run fast and may begin earlier than posted. There will be an $8 entry fee for spectators (athletes are already paid for through the team registration). This can be a long day so please make sure your athlete brings snacks and water. There will be a full concession stand as well. This event will run rain or shine.

Have a great week Grizzlies and see you at the track!
